Una grandissima vittoria quella che matura in casa del Quarrata, una delle squadre sulla carta più attrezzate del nostro girone. Un risultato che non arriva per caso, ma con la determinazione di non volersi accontentare nemmeno di un pareggio che sarebbe comunque stato un risultato positivo. Nel primo tempo le occasioni non sono molte, si segnala un tiro da fuori area di Calbi che esce non di molto, ma l’atteggiamento dei grigioneri non è quello di chi vuole solo limitare i danni. E dopo una decina di minuti del secondo tempo, gli sforzi vengono ripagati: punizione dalla trequarti di Fornai, e Giuntoli si avventa sulla respinta del portiere in uscita bassa: 0-1. I padroni di casa a questo punto cambiano marcia e la partita si fa più divertente. Galluzzo, che aveva già ben controllato un insidioso tiro da fuori prima del gol del vantaggio, guida con sicurezza la difesa e mostra la solita solidità nelle uscite alte, ma i cross avversari arrivano sempre più spesso e alla fine, a poco più di dieci minuti dalla fine, Del Bianco è bravo a prendere il tempo alla difesa e insaccare di testa sul secondo palo. Si potrebbe pensare a un finale in sofferenza, e invece il Lebowski torna all’attacco, con un Del Pela, subentrato a Calbi, che spacca letteralmente la partita: le sue sgroppate sono incontenibili per la stanca difesa avversaria e a una manciata di minuti dal fischio finale si conquista il rigore decisivo, trasformato con maestria da Cubillos. Tre punti che pesano come macigni e ci fanno arrivare con la massima fiducia alla super sfida di domenica prossima all’Ascanio Nesi contro il Grassina.

A great victory away at Quarratan against one of the best prepared teams in our group, at least on paper. A victory that’s not just down to sheer luck, but to the determination not to settle, even if a draw would have been a perfectly satisfactory result. Not a lot of chances during the first half, save for a shot by Calbi that ends just over the bar, but the grigioneri enter the pitch with the right attitude and aren’t interest in mere damage control. About 10 minutes into the second half, this attitude pays off: Fornai takes a free kick from near the area, the Quarrata keeper tries a low save but Giuntoli ricochets the ball into the net. 0-1. The locals now switch gears and the game becomes quite a bit more fun. Galluzzo, who has already blocked an insidious shot from outside the area just before Giuntoli’s goal, leads his defence with authority and shows the usual confidence in intercepting the ball; but Quarrata’s crosses become more frequent and eventually, only 10 minutes from the end, Del Bianco skillfully outpaces the Lebowski defence and heads the ball into the far post. It could have been a painful end to the match, but Lebowski instead goes on the counterattack: Del Pela comes in for Calbi and changes the game, running way too fast for the exhausted Quarrata defence – and just a few minutes before the end of the match, he manages to earn the decisive penalty, skilfully scored by Cubillos. Three heavy points that make us feel much more confident in looking ahead to next Sunday and to the crucial match against Grassina.
